During the natural aging process, the hyaluronic acid content of the skin begins to decline from about the age of 25. At the age of 60, only about 10% of the body’s original hyaluronic acid content is present. Since hyaluronic acid molecules form the principal component of the filling material between the skin cells, this decline in hyaluronic acid means a loss in volume: wrinkles begin to form. hyaluronic³ products can counteract this loss in volume.

What is hyaluronic acid?

Chemically seen, hyaluronic acid is a chain of sugar molecules. Under the microscope it looks like lots of small threads knotted together to form a long chain, which is then loosely tangled in upon itself. A single molecule in this chain can bind up to 6,000 times its own weight in water.

Nowadays, hyaluronic acid is produced synthetically from enzymes. This method of production guarantees a product of high quality, which in general is excellently tolerated.

Why is hyaluronic acid so important?
Hyaluronic acid is naturally present in the human body, also in the connective tissue of the skin. It binds moisture and owing to its molecular structure, it creates paths for nutrient and liquid structure. It stabilizes elastic and collagen fibres, stimulates their renewal and protects the cells against free radicals.
